The Breast Milk Baby Doll Dooms the Free World

by Deborah Cruz

The Breast Milk Baby Doll Dooms the World, or that’s what some people would have you think. By now, I’m sure all of you social media savvy parents have heard the controversy of this completely innocent doll. The doll which is manufactured by Berjuan toys is simply a cute baby doll that comes in 6 styles ( male, female, variety of ethnicities) and can simulate a breastfeeding baby. It helps little girls to simulate being just like their Mommy. I think it’s sweet, precious even. Just like I did when my oldest child would simulate feeding her babies while I breastfed my youngest. How could anyone find it offensive? It’s not like the manufacturers are suggesting you make ice cream from the simulated breast milk? Isn’t breastfeeding the most natural thing in the world? It’s part of the magic of motherhood, right?

If this looks sexual to you, YOU are the one with the problem...not this little girl.

The Breast Milk Baby Doll

The breast milk baby doll comes with a small apron that is outfitted with 2 small flowers on the chest area that are magnetized and cause a “suckling” when the baby doll is drawn near. The doll’s purpose is help children learn to be more nurturing and loving, not perverts as some would have you believe. It’s not a blow job baby, now is it? Now, that would be sexualization.

It really irritates me that people would get so up in arms about a doll that is emulating a natural, wholesome way to nurture future babies. Nobody gives a rats ass if our little girls play with dolls that take bottles, wear pampers, cry, pee, poop and eat pretend baby food (which by the way I totally do give a rats ass about! Dude, who do you think has to clean up all that simulated pee and poop? ME! One more diaper to change! Now, that’s offensive.) But the minute you throw a doll that perpetuates a more natural lifestyle, people cry sexualization. How is breastfeeding sexualization? Jeez, it’s not like that Single Ladies video of scantily dressed children from last year. It’s a suckling baby doll, people!

The Breast Milk Baby Doll

I, personally, think if ANYONE sees another person breastfeeding and finds the experience arousing or sexual …they are the person with the issue. They are the pervert. If it were a doll that necessitated a simulated sexual encounter to release it from it’s box, I’d consider that sexualization. But just because a company happens to be pioneers in providing a doll that does what millions of little girls have been doing for thousands of years does not make the breast milk baby doll the doom of the free world.

What are your thoughts on this doll? Would you be offended if you saw a child “breastfeeding” their “baby”? Why? Why not? Would you buy your child the Breast milk Baby Doll?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

I am really so over our puritanical roots as a nation. We let our daughters show their asses in booty shorts but we get offended if she dare pretend to breastfeed a doll. W T F, priorities? If sexuality is a problem for (generic) you, effin learn the difference between sexuality and NOURISHING A BABY!!!

AMEN! it’s ridiculous what people will get up in arms about but when it comes to truly important things, no one is willing to stick their neck out because it may not be popular opinion. The world has a lot of real problems, this doll is not one of them!

Awesome discussion! I love this post and all of the comments. It is reassuring to find voices that run parallel to mine. Our children are exposed to so many choices, but sometimes even the right choice doesn’t exist or doesn’t have a chance to exist because it gets shot down. Thanks for writing this post!

I am rarely offended. Like, genuinely… it just doesn’t happen often. This would be a product that wouldn’t even register as a possible offense! Seriously, our country over sexualizes everything and I feel this is the step in the RIGHT direction! My son has gravitated towards baby dolls and he likes being a super baby Daddy… he was never bottle fed.. most of my friends breastfeed.. so when he was two years old, lifted his shirt and pretended to nurse his babydoll we all went awwwwww.

Breast is natural not sexual though some may find that it is. No one can control sexual preferences. I mean crap there are people that find pooping on others sexual!

Ultimately… if this offends someone then do what I tell my kids “If you can’t say something nice then STFU!” okay I don’t REALLY say STFU but I think some parents just need to accept different perspectives and keep their shit to themselves.

It skeeves me out that people could possibly see it as sexual. That’s like people calling babies in bikinis “sexy”. They’re BABIES. Like…ew. Horrifying. Pervs. I would never buy my daughter the doll because she’s just not into baby dolls, but the uproar and disgust is just lame.

LOL!I think the same thing every time people get insane about little girls in bikinis. My girls where bikinis, that fit and are age appropriate. It’s not the little girls faults that nasty adults have impure thoughts.Im pretty sure a 1 piece isn;t going to thwart a perverts imagination:(

I would totally buy this doll for my daughter. I’m still breastfeeding my daughter, and sometimes she likes to feed her dolls too (from me). But there is nothing wrong with a little girl wanting to feed her doll without the use of bottles.

We are sexualizig girls at young age, then we get disgusted when children want to play feed the baby. It’s not like they are playing “make the baby.”

I love your last line. My point exactly. I don’t see what the issue is:)

This is great since while learning the parenting skills the most important part is feeding and as a mother you need to face it and i think breast milk dolls are best suited to experience this

It can’t be any worse (or more outrageously priced, over-accessorized or pointless) than all that Barbie junk I’ve had to buy for my daughter over the years. It doesn’t come with a hot tub/camper van, does it? Right?

I don’t like it. I mean, shit. Let’s let our kids be KIDS. I don’t like booty shorts, I don’t like the slutty Halloween costumes, and I don’t like the breastfeeding doll.
And for the record? I’m glad I have a boy because I really worry about girls these days.
I totally respect your opinion and I can see why you see it as a good thing, but I just don’t. I’m not against breastfeeding and I’m not one that thinks it is sexual. But I think it’s for Mommy, not for a five year old.
