James Gandolfini RIP
James Gandolfini, the New Jersey bred Italian–American actor who was most famously known for his portrayal of the endearing mob boss with a heart, Tony Soprano on the series “The Sopranos,” has died of a massive heart attack today while on holiday in Rome at the age of 51.
James Gandolfini, Mob Boss and Family Man
Okay, I didn’t start blogging until 2009 so most of you won’t know that I am / was / and will always be a die-hard Sopranos fan. I watched that show religiously from the first season until the very last episode. I found every single Soprano character endearing in their own dysfunctional way but my favorite, was Tony Soprano (James Gondolfini) the hefty, I don’t give a fuck, don’t take no nonsense, don’t fuck with my family, you better respect me mob boss who would kill you as soon as look at you but if you were family he would give you endless chances and love you to the end (well, with the exception of Big Pussy who committed the mortal sin of turning on family.) No matter what, he loved his family.
I’ve always loved seeing James Gandolfini in different roles but in my heart he will always be Tony Soprano. It broke my heart to hear that he passed away at such a young age and from a sudden, unexpected massive heart attack.
James Gandolfini the Husband
Throat Punch to the massive heart attack that took James Gandolfini from the world too soon and even more sadly, from his wife and children which included a little girl born just last October; the little girl who will never really get to know the amazing father she had. Gandolfini is survived by his wife, Deborah, and their 9-month-old daughter, Liliana. He is also survived by his teenaged son, Michael, from another marriage
There’s not much more that I can say than this truly sucks. You will truly be missed by all your fans. Rest in Peace James Gandolfini.

Girl, I’m with you. I let out an audible WHAT THE FUCK?! when I heard because 1) I was sad and 2) it was the only appropriate thing to say. It was Tony Fucking Soprano, yo. So many things wrong with this.. he was too young, we’ve lost a great actor and now, without a doubt, there will be NO Sopranos movie. I’m not surprised by the heart attack but if the poor guy had to go, I’m at least glad he went in the Mother Land of Italy.
I agree on all accounts. NOT surprised by the heart attack but shocked at how young he was. I fucking loved him in everything he played in and LOVED him asTony Soprano. I especially am saddened by the fact that his little girl is only 9 months old. Makes me want to cry:(
